Let’s sit and think back on some of the wildest Fortnite weapons!
Fortnite is such a wild game when you really think about it. With wild crossovers and events that let Epic games go wild with what they can put into the game. From extremely useful tools that change how you approach combat to more direct weapons, this Tier list seeks to reminisce on some of the most fun the game brought to us. I wanted to keep guns out of the list because it feels cheap to do that, otherwise there would be 5 different shotguns in this list — we can’t have that!
On the topic of old content, some of these will probably make a comeback and some will certainly not. Much like the content in most of the old battle passes in the game. So if you want to play the game with some of the most prestige skins or unlock the current battle pass quicker, I suggest you look into getting Fortnite accounts!
S-Tier – Peak Fortnite Fun
These weapons are the epitome of Fortnite’s wacky charm. They’re endlessly entertaining, incredibly unique, and deeply missed when vaulted.
1. Shockwave Launcher
The Shockwave Launcher took the mobility of Shockwave Grenades and turned it into pure madness. Players used it to launch themselves across the map, send enemies flying into the storm, or escape certain death in style. Whether you were bouncing around solo or griefing your squadmates for laughs, this item was a fan-favorite during its time. It wasn’t just useful—it was hilarious.
2. Lightsabers
Brought in through Star Wars crossovers, Lightsabers were everything you’d hope for: flashy, powerful, and cinematic. They allowed for intense melee combat, blocking bullets, and some of the most stylish eliminations in Fortnite. Plus, who didn’t want to feel like a Jedi mid-match? They’ve returned multiple times, and players are always eager to wield them again.
3. Infinity Blade
One of the most controversial items in Fortnite history… And one of the most fun! (Few people know this, but Infinity Blade was a mobile game that epic made for the iPhone!) The Infinity Blade turned its wielder into a boss-level threat. With massive damage, health regeneration, and mobility, the sword was overpowered — but it also delivered unforgettable moments. Whether you were the one swinging it or trying to take down the player who was, the Infinity Blade was pure spectacle.

A-Tier – Iconic Chaos
These weapons were fun, chaotic, and fan-loved—just not quite as game-breaking (or game-defining) as the S-tier picks.
1. Baller
Technically more of a vehicle, but undeniably a weapon in the right hands. The Baller was a grappling hamster ball that let you swing across the map, climb buildings, and smash into enemies. It was great for mobility, but even better for pulling off goofy stunts. The Baller was Fortnite at its weirdest — and best.
2. Boogie Bomb
Now, this is a classic among classics. You’re going to have a hard time finding someone that dislikes the Boogie Bomb. Throw this item to make every character (friend or foe) dance for a short period of time when you can swiftly take care of them… that is, unless you were in the blast radius. This item is peak wholesome grifting and a genuinely useful tool, earning it its spot on the list.
3. Chiller Grenades
Another weapon that doesn’t really damage the enemy. This one, instead of making them dance, covered their feet with ice and made them slip on the floor. This item also affected anyone on the blast radius and it was fun because of its unpredictability. Either, you would use them on unsuspecting enemies to hinder their movement, making them easy to shots while they panic. Or maybe you use them on yourself to pick up crazy speed down slopes or with the help of other items!
4. Alien Nanites
Added during Chapter 2, the Alien Nanites transformed the area around them into a low-gravity biome, creating a bizarre space bubble that altered movement and gunplay. They were part utility, part environmental hazard, and part party trick. While short-lived in the loot pool, they were a fresh twist on Fortnite’s ever-evolving sandbox.

B-Tier – Solid Fun with a Side of Gimmick
These weapons weren’t the most practical, but they were fun enough to earn a spot on this list. Often niche, but unforgettable when used correctly.
1. Jetpacks
Not a weapon per se, but still an item in your weapon bar, so I’m counting it Jetpacks were among the first items to break Fortnite’s gravity rules. They let you fly (sort of) for short periods, giving you vertical combat options and letting you escape tight build fights. While limited by fuel, the joy of boosting into the air like a sci-fi hero was unmatched. They’ve been vaulted and reworked several times, but are always a fun surprise when brought back.
2. Flint-Knock Pistol
This gun actually is a gun, but it plays more like a mobility item. The Flint-Knock deals heavy damage and launches both the shooter and their target backwards. Players used it to break falls, perform trick shots, and even launch themselves into zone rotations. It takes skill to use effectively, but the style points make it one of Fortnite’s most creative weapons.
3. Snowball Launcher
A holiday twist on the classic grenade launcher, the Snowball Launcher was seasonal fun at its finest. Exploding snowballs brought festive chaos to fights, and it became a staple of Fortnite’s winter events. While not always in the standard loot pool, it returns almost every year for some frosty action.
4. Impulse Grenades
Before Shockwaves, Impulse Grenades were the original “blast yourself across the map” item. Less forgiving, sure—but still a blast (literally). Skilled players used them for high-flying trick plays, clutch rotations, or yeeting enemies off cliffs. They were tricky to master but so rewarding when used right.

C-Tier – Funny but Forgettable
These weapons were good for a laugh or two, but often felt more gimmicky than genuinely fun.
1. Junk Rift
The Junk Rift let you drop objects — like dinosaurs, toilets, or anchors—onto your enemies from above. It was chaotic and absurd but also inconsistent. While it made for great clip-worthy eliminations, it wasn’t always viable in real matches. Still, it perfectly embodied Fortnite’s commitment to weird, unexpected fun.
2. Storm Flip
This throwable item either created a safe zone inside the storm or storm damage in the safe zone. It was powerful but situational—and very divisive among competitive players. Still, it added a strategic twist and allowed for trollish eliminations, making it a weird but memorable part of the game’s item history.
3. Firefly Jar
One of Fortnite’s draftable weapons, the Firefly Jar, was more of an area denial tool. You could throw it to ignite wooden builds and flush enemies from their boxes. It was a cool addition with realistic interaction, but not exactly “fun” in the way others on this list were. More strategic than silly.
In conclusion
What sets Fortnite apart from other shooters is its willingness to get weird. While most games stick to traditional weapons and mechanics, Fortnite embraces creativity. They blur the line between weapon and toy, giving players tools for chaos and comedy as much as combat, and remind us that it’s not always about winning — it’s about having fun while doing it!
